Gustav, 1963 VW Double Cab Truck

Part of the history of this truck is where it was originally sold in 1963.  Jack Adams VW was the only VW dealer in Cape Girardeau MO in the 1960's.  So I wanted to find some literature & collectibles from this dealership.

 

I got lucky when searching for the original metal license plate frame.  I contacted Kai in The Netherlands, who is a well-known specialist that collects license plate frames.  He had one frame from Jack Adams VW.  Then in 2019 I bought an Adams VW frame from an old friend Bill Bowman in Missouri.

 

I was also fortunate to find an original service booklet with stamps from Jack Adams VW.  Inside the booklet was a pocket that had the original white plastic card that VW service technicians used to identify the VW owner.

 

And because it was a Missouri farm truck its whole life, I wanted to honor that by adding a few Missouri collectibles.  On ebay I found a vintage AAA cloisonne badge that I decided to mount on the rear above the tail light.  I also found an original 1963 Missouri mini license plate & AAA Missouri key fob.
