Gustav, 1963 VW Double Cab Truck

The truck came to me without a body VIN plate.  This plate is mounted in the engine compartment with screws that allows the car to be registered.  Over the past several years I've searched for options to replace it.

I bought  a blank Beetle plate & metal number stamps in hopes of stamping the VIN number myself.  This would mean the numbers would be inset into the plate but the original had the numbers embossed instead.

In January 2019 I found an ad for a guy that offered Bus VIN plates and would emboss the numbers for $70 shipped.  In early-1963 they did not print the weight numbers on the VIN plate.

Done deal!  Problem solved!
