Door Window Frames

Since the vent windows needed to be replaced and the seals were dry it was time to remove the door window frames for restoration.

Used an impact driver to get the rusty door edge screws out. The rest of the frame came out easily. Scraped-off the old seals and stripped the old paint to bare metal. Primed & painted them Light Gray.

Seals & vent windows came from Wolfsburg West for $400. The vent frames came in bright white so I masked & painted them Light Gray. Dividers & slider bars were stripped & painted.

The installation of the seals was a frustrating experience. Lots of silicon lubricant & patience. The top seal finally went in by pulling it with channel-locks while pushing on the seal. Looks so good when done & the doors close firmly & smoothly. Great fit!
