Decklid Hinge Repair

When I took delivery of the truck I discovered the decklid hinge blocks had been rusted-out & were missing. This meant the decklid was not able to be mounted securely to the body.

I was fortunate to find Chris in Northern California that offered to send me a pair of original hinge blocks to repair the lid.

I drove down to southern San Diego to visit my good friend Pedro who makes roof racks. His welder was able to quickly weld the two hinge pieces into place.

The decklid was then stripped of its original Turquoise paint. Then it was primed & painted L345 Light Gray.

New decklid hinges & seals were bought from Wolfsburg West which completed the installation of the decklid.
