Gustav, 1963 VW Double Cab Truck

I found it advertised on theSamba in July 2014 in Dixon Missouri for "Offers". I contacted the seller and told him I wasn't going to bid on it, just wondered what he wanted for it. A couple weeks later he changed the ad to $12,500 and I called him again. I asked for more detailed photos of the rusty areas. It was rough & abused but it looked complete & original, never having been modified. But it was in-need of a full restoration.
Called my buddy Jon House to borrow the money for the truck & shipping.
I had the seller deliver the non-running truck to a local VW service shop B&C VW Service in a nearby town. They found a running 1961 Beetle engine and installed it so the truck could be loaded onto the transport hauler.
In September the truck was picked-up and left Missouri.
