Gustav, 1963 VW Double Cab Truck
Fuel Tank Dividers & Fuel Sender
The fuel gauge didn't work & it's an important part of a shop truck so I began into the fuel sender & fuel tank. The fuel tank is under the rear seat behind two metal divider panels. When these were removed I discovered a rodent nest & eaten wiring.
I cleaned-up the metal panels & painted them Light Gray to match the truck. On the back side I added fresh 0.75" foam insulation.
The fuel sender ended up being the original one date-stamped 9.62 (September 1962), which was great. After cleaning I discovered it still worked! Even better!
Wiring was repaired and the fuel gauge worked when it was all back together!
